Our family of 4 occupied a cabin for 4 nights and had a lovely experience at Africa Safari Selous. The staff was available, nice and attentive. The food is basic but filling and clean. Some things to note: Electricity is off from 12-4am so no fans on at that time. We brought small battery operated fans and that helped. Rooms are clean and they spray for bugs during dinner but our duct tape came in handy for small holes in the outside screen. We LOVED our safaris with Mananu and Innocent. Spending 9 hours with these lovely men was a delight. We did 2 Safaris, 1 River Safari and the Bush Walk and Village Tour. A hand held paper chinese fan was a godsend during the bush walk and village tours. Bring small wrapped candy or pencils for the Village Tour and you will make friends with a couple hundred kids. It was so fun and the guide keeps it from getting out of hand so no worries. Laundry was very reasonable, and done in less than 4 hours. Pool was nice and perfect temperature. Stairs a bit slippery but once you knew, it was fine. Internet was fine but only near the reception area, so a gathering place for guests. Bar was well stocked and we enjoyed playing games before dinner every night. A wonderful time as a family and I recommend this camp highly.

The Selous Game Reserve is a protected area in southern Tanzania. It covers a total area of 50,000 km2 and has additional buffer zones. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 due to its wildlife diversity and undisturbed nature. Some of the typical wildlife of the miombo inhabits the reserve, such as African bush elephant, black rhino, hippopotamus, lion, East African wild dog, Cape buffaloes, Masai giraffe, Plains zebra, and Nile crocodile. Permanent human habitation is not permitted within the reserve. All human entry and exit is controlled by the Wildlife Division of the Tanzanian Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism.
