150 corners road

ASRV - 150 corners road

Located on Mount Magara you will find the most winding road in Tanzania. This road leads to/via Mbulu in the Manyara region to Karatu in about 110 km. The 150 corners road was established during colonial time by the Germans and was used to pass with horses. As the name suggests, the road starts with a climb of about 10 km and makes 150 corners. The road starts at 980 metres and has its peak at 1150 metres. After reaching the peak you will drive through breathtaking African landscapes. You will see intriguing farming techniques from the Iraqw tribe, such as cultivation terraces at stair step width! The environment is very fertile. The landscapes and vegetation varies along the way, and you will see many honey logs and beehives.
